As you might have noticed (or might not have noticed if you’re one of those feed reader lurker types), there’s a huge button on my sidebar proclaiming that I’m on the street team for The Blank Canvas Tour. I couldn’t be more excited!
Bloggers Tico & Tina are taking to the open road this summer with their two kids and their intern Krista with the intention of encouraging others to chase after their dreams and passions. Taking inspiration from their line of downloadable greeting cards featuring a blank canvas, their tagline is “Life’s a Blank Canvas, Paint an Adventure!”
They’ll be traversing the United States taking photographs, meeting people and doing video interviews with people who are living with a mindset of adventure and blogging about it the entire way.
One, help funding their project. Now, nobody likes to grovel for money but I think there’s a lot of merit in being straight up with things. The reality is a trip like the one they’re about embark on does have some overhead costs (I mean, have you seen how much gas costs today!?) As of the time that I’m posting this they’re at $325 out of $3,750. This is all or nothing funding. I’d think it would be super awesome to get them to that goal well before the deadline so they can embark on their trip stress free.
You don’t have to contribute much to make a difference. Every dollar counts, and if lots of us can give a couple of dollars it’ll be funded before you know it. So, consider yourself formally asked. Can you help Tico & Tina fund their project this summer?
Two, nominate someone to be interviewed by Tico & Tina via the Paint Adventure Linkup or by sending them an email via their contact form.
Take a gander at these ideas and see if you could think of someone to nominate:
- How about someone who you believe is really talented and should be living their dream, but they’re too scared to try or don’t believe in themselves? I bet that they could use the encouragement!
- Or maybe someone who is already working hard toward living their dream and you’d like to recognize their efforts?
- I know! Someone who is successful whose story you think would be inspirational to others! You should totally tell us about them!
- Why not yourself? Your dreams and aspirations are important too! We’d love to hear about them!
I bet you thought of someone, didn’t you! See? You totally don’t have an excuse for not participating in this now. (And I just solved your problem of not knowing what to post on your blog tomorrow, aren’t I nice?)
Also, one person from the videos they record while on the tour will receive $100 + a percentage of the Beauty of One store sales during the tour to put toward living their dream! AND If you’re nominating someone else and they win you’ll also be awarded $50! The winner will be chosen by popular vote at the end of the tour.
Three, sponsor the tour with your shop, business, or blog. Do you have items you could donate to help make their tour easier? Do you have skills that you could lend to help them promote their tour? If you can help them, they can help you by promoting you! See more details on the about tour page.
Four, purchase something from their store. They have awesome downloadable greeting cards and other digital art.
Five, I mean this is obvious… You could always just blog or tweet or Facebook or Google+ or do whatever you cool kids do nowadays about the tour. You know what to do. I know you do.
