Happy (Day After the) 4th of July!

I found myself a little thrown off my game by having time off in the middle of the week for the holiday. I had the hardest time sleeping last night, and I was the crankiest person ever today with the attention span of Dory from Finding Nemo.

I spent the 4th in Brooklyn in the backyard of my best friend Anna! (Who somehow missed out on being in any of the photos… but at least I took photos!)

The Food!

We had a lovely feast of hot dogs, hot Italian sausage, hamburgers, barbeque chicken, asparagus, and corn on the cob with beverage choice of Bud Light Platinum, Rolling Rock, Brooklyn Lager Summer Ale or rosé… and of course WATER! It was SO HOT!

The Dog!

Meet Flora! She was lovely lady canine of the party belonging to Jonathan and Rachelle. Don’t let her size scare you, she’s seriously one of the most chill dogs that I’ve ever met. So well mannered!

The People!

Obviously I need to work on my people photography (or rather, I need to stop photographing people with my phone because it makes that obnoxious shutter noise that people notice and scowl at the last minute). Jonathan’s putting chicken on the grill, and Rachelle doesn’t look too impressed and Jason has floppy vegetables… and Derek, Anna and I didn’t even make it into photos.

BUT AT LEAST I TOOK PHOTOS!

What did you do for the 4th of July?

  1. Oh what I would do to have a cookout! It’s just too hot here to have them. I spent the 4th at the nursing home I volunteer for shooting off fireworks for the residents. It was no cookout or party, but it was fun nonetheless!

    • My friend Anna gets all the credit for that one… I didn’t actually eat any of the asparagus myself. It’s one of those vegetables that despite trying, I can’t seem to get myself to like the texture or aftertaste of.
